A few words from Inn Keeper Stacie Hearne:
I had dreamed for years of opening a B&B and then finally it became a reality with “Book Nook Inn.” We have invested a lot of effort into creating a hospitable environment and are eager to welcome you here at Book Nook Inn. We invite you to experience our home in person and join us for a delightful stay complete with a home-cooked breakfast and engaging conversations.
There are many things I love to do, reading for one, traveling for another, sewing quilts, entertaining and party planning have always been my passions, and I love to cook! Trying new recipes and venturing out into trying new types of food.
Here at Book Nook Inn, I’m getting ready to start an organic garden, eventually, most of our fresh vegetables will come directly from it.
As I have already mentioned reading is something I enjoy, which is evident upon visiting our Inn and seeing all of our books and our library. My love of reading inspired me to start AuthorsReading.com, a business that produces editorial reviews for around a thousand books a year.
I love to just curl up on a rainy or cold day, in front of the fireplace, and just let a great novel transport me into some fantastic adventure. It’s my own personal time machine!
Recently, I have taken up Kick Boxing, and loving every minute of it! This hobby helps instill confidence in oneself and helps me relax.
We are thrilled to welcome travelers from across the globe to share in our home. Meeting new guests is a delight, and we have been privileged to form lasting friendships with many wonderful individuals who have stayed with us.

Hi, I’m David Hearne. My wife and I have worked diligently to have the best Bed & Breakfast in the Golden Triangle. We have tried to make our home an inviting place that others would find enjoyable to stay at. My wife has blended her love of literature into her love of entertaining and Book Nook Inn has been the result.
As my wife has already stated, literature is high on our list of likes; in fact, I am the author of “June 17, 1967,” “The Christmas Special,” “Hulagu’s Web” and “Bloodstained Tales of Sin and Sex,” which might never have been completed, if not for the quiet and stimulating ambiance our house provided during those years that I dedicated to writing. So if you’re an author, our place might just give you that extra ounce of inspiration needed to complete that manuscript or rethink those rough spots that you have anguished over for days.
If you need an ear to discuss your problems, well, isn’t that what an innkeeper is for? You never know who you might meet at our quaint Bed and Breakfast; maybe another author or a politician needing a relaxing place to plan their campaign. Sometimes it is a band needing to hide away from fans or an eloping couple.
I have a big love for guitar playing, rock and roll, country, and contemporary music. If you are a guitar or bass player or singer, maybe we can have our own little jam session. I have extra guitars to loan for our jam session.
Also, if you are looking for a place to get married – we are that place. In fact, I have had the privilege of marrying many couples.
Why stay at Book Nook Inn? The answer is uniqueness, relaxation, and a plethora of events that you can enjoy during your stay. Book Nook Inn is right on the edge of the famed Big Thicket National Preserve which encompasses 105,684 acres of biological diversity. On the preserve, you can hike, bike, canoe, take tours and in certain seasons hunt.
Book Nook’s well-stocked pond offers fishing and you won’t need a license since it is right on our property. The pond is stocked with catfish, perch, and bass. If you like to swim, we offer that also during the warm seasons.
In any season, Book Nook Inn offers elegant surroundings whether you are visiting friends, exploring the area, attending a conference, or just getting away to relax and rejuvenate your soul. Lamar sports, concerts, live stage performances, antique shopping, shooting machine guns, visiting museums, historic attractions, or fine restaurant dining are all within a short drive from Book Nook Inn.
Here at Book Nook Inn, we have this philosophy. We want this to be your experience, not ours. You don’t need to pet our dog, eat Stacie’s homemade granola, or talk to David about his latest book, guitars, or politics – just do whatever makes you happy. We offer lots of amenities to allow our guests to have an enjoyable experience while they are here. On any given night we could have guests traveling to visit family, a honeymoon couple, guests here for the funeral of a loved one, or business travelers with an important client meeting in the morning. Whatever your reason for being here, we will do whatever we can to ensure each guest receives everything they need to meet their specific needs. For some that simply means chatting in the dining room over coffee; for others, it might mean helping them plan their day trips to see all the different areas that the Texas Golden Triangle has to offer; for many, it usually means loads of hot water, soft, comfortable bedding, high-speed internet access, and complete privacy. We strive to deliver that for each and every guest. And we’re told we do a very good job of it…
We hope you will come and enjoy all that Book Nook Inn has to offer.
